Dr. Kristen utilizes several different chiropractic adjustment syles. Throughout her time in school and since graduation in 2016, she has learned over 10 different techniques. Her primaries include Koren Specific Technique, Torque Release Technique and Full Spine/Thompson. Her knowledge in both instrument and manual adjusting allows her to find the best fit and comfort level for every patient. Continue below to learn more about these techniques.
Koren Specific Technique
Dr. Kristen has been doing Koren Specific Technique on patients since 2019. KST is a light force technique that utilizes an instrument called an Arthrostim. This tool moves faster than hands are capable of moving, allowing for less force to be used. KST utilizes a specific analysis to determine which areas of the spine and body need to be adjusted to allow the nervous system to heal. This light force adjusting style is very popular for those looking to avoid the manual adjustments.
Full Spine and Thompson are both techniques that utilize manual adjustments. Dr. Kristen has a table that allows her to maintain a lighter force manual adjustment. Her goal is to regain proper joint motion. When a joint remains "stuck" for too long, the body starts to compensate by creating pain, arthritis and many other health issues.
Torque Release Technique
TRT is another technique that utilizes an instrument for the adjustment. For this technique, Dr. Kristen uses an Integrator. Much like the Arthrostim, the integrator uses speed for the adjustment. There is a very specific analysis for TRT that allows Dr. Kristen to decrease the tone of the nervous system, better allowing the body to accept and hold the adjustments.
Often times, other therapies are added to chiropractic adjustments to speed up the healing processes. Those include the use of moist heath packs, shockwave therapy, spinal decompression and mechanical traction for the neck and low back. Dr. Kristen wants to ensure that all of her patients receive whatever may be needed to help with the healing process.
